Quincy Public Schools Presents: Showcasing Illustrative Mathematics

Parents with children in grades K-5 are invited to attend.

Are you wondering why math looks so different now?

Join Maureen O’Connell, math consultant and IM certified facilitator, and members of the QPS math team for an evening of information and exploration. Participants will take part in hands-on math experiences that will show you how problem based learning builds understanding and number sense.

All participants will leave with copies of IM math games to play at home. As a result, advanced registration is encouraged so we can plan accordingly.

Maureen Durkin O’Connell is a math consultant and IM certified facilitator.as well as a former elementary classroom teacher and math specialist from Ipswich, MA. She taught IM in all grades K-5 during IM K-5 pilot years. She has authored many blogs and presented webinars for IM. Maureen is a proud graduate of the Worcester Public Schools, earned an A.B. from Smith College in Education and Child Study and her M.A. in Education of the Deaf and Hearing Impaired from Gallaudet University.
