Quincy School Committee
Policy Subcommittee Meeting
Monday, November 14, 2016
A meeting of the Policy Subcommittee was held on Monday, November 14, 2016 at 5:30 pm in the
Coddington Building. Present were Mayor Thomas Koch, Mrs. Kathryn Hubley, Mrs. Emily Lebo, and
Mr. Paul Bregoli, Chair. Also attending were Superintendent DeCristofaro, Deputy Superintendent
Kevin Mulvey, Mrs. Maura Papile, Mrs. Erin Perkins, Ms. Madeline Roy; and Ms. Laura Owens, Clerk.
Mr. Bregoli reviewed that suggested revisions for Sections 1 and 2 were shared with School
Committee for review at the previous Policy Subcommittee meeting. He asked is any members had
comments on any of the suggested revisions.
There were no comments or further revisions for Section 1.
For Section 2, there was discussion about the appointment of Chapter 74 Advisory Committee. The
current policy states that School Committee appoints these Advisory Subcommittees. Mr. Mulvey
agreed that this is correct through the agent of the Superintendent, so the language should remain as
is.
Minor additional corrections were made to Sections 2.2.1 and 2.4.9.
Mrs. Hubley made a motion to approve the changes to Sections 1 and 2 of the Policy Book as
presented and amended. Mr. Bregoli seconded the motion and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.
Policy Book Sections 1 and 2 revisions will be presented at the December 7, 2016 School Committee
meeting and voted on at the January 11, 2017 School Committee meeting.
Mr. Bregoli made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 5:45 pm. Mrs. Hubley seconded the motion
and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.
